About

At a young age, Kyle had an inescapable curiosity for saxophone and instrumental music. Before graduating from high school, he would co-create and lead a jazz combo class, receive superior ranks in solo & ensemble, and create numerous arrangements for small jazz ensemble.
In 2018, Kyle graduated with his undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Colorado’s prestigious jazz program. While attending school, he was a member of UNC’s Lab I under the direction of Dana Landry. During this time, Kyle had the pleasure of performing with musicians such as: Adam Nussbaum, Randy Brecker, Bob Shephard, and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Lab I received a 2018 Downbeat award for “Best large jazz ensemble” in the graduate category. Upon graduating, Kyle was recognized with the “Outstanding undergrad” award.
Today, Kyle is both a bandleader for his own music and has collaborated with many notable groups in Colorado, including: The Denver Jazz Orchestra, Sarah Mount & the Rushmores, The Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, The Gavin Worland Big Band, Funkiphino, The Academy Jazz Ensemble, and The Knockblockers. He also traveled the world briefly as a cruise ship musician before settling back down in the front range.
In his free time he enjoys making chai, learning Japanese, and gaming.
From Kyle: “I owe everything to music. Everything joyful I’ve gotten to experience in my life has been because in 6th grade, I went to an instrument petting zoo and chose the best instrument in the world. I’m very lucky to do what I do, and I will never regret my dedication and many long hours of sitting in a practice room.”
